Equip-U 2018

June 6 - August 1

Equip-U meets on Wednesdays throughout the summer on the WHBC campus. This time was created to give people an opportunity to grow in specific areas in their life. This summer there are four courses to choose from. Children ages 3 years to 5th grade will take part in the SuperSoakers program. There will also be childcare available for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years. Each week will begin with dinner at 5:30 pm followed by classes from 6:15 to 7:30 pm. Insight Series

Don Eade, Granison & Janice Garrison, Steve Spray, Dwayne Woodworth, Jo Anne Glass

Everyone has hardship and difficulty in life. The Insight Series will examine biblical insights related to suffering, pain, trials, and difficulty. The first four weeks examine what the Bible has to say about suffering - the purpose of suffering, trust versus understanding, God’s providence in suffering, and how Jesus models an approach to suffering. During the second four weeks, the Insight Series will provide helpful tools and strategies for handling difficulty when it comes and how to help others as they experience suffering.

What in the World are We Doing?

Brian Landrum, Bob Miller

What is the role of the local church in missions? How can we effectively support those who are on the “front lines?” Each week we will focus on a different ministry supported by WHBC and will interact with ministry leaders through in-person presentations, ministry videos, and Skype sessions. You will gain personal insight into the “heart” of missions and be encouraged to come alongside in support.

Music Worship Ministry

Kerry St John, Melanie Gossett

This class will go through the book “Holy Roar” by Darren Whitehead and Chris Tomlin to explore seven Hebrew words for our English word “praise”, to help us in our understanding of worship. There will also be a time of worship practice as we prepare ourselves to lead our congregation in worship. Anyone is welcome and invited to be apart of this class.

The Age of Opportunity

Melinda Stephens

The teenage years can seem to be full of hassles, tension, and chaos. Do parents see this time as a disruption that we just need to “get through” or, is this a prime opportunity to connect, listen, and nurture our kids? In this class we will learn how to deepen communication with teens (or soon-to-be teens) in ways that build relationships and encourage both parents and teens to draw closer to God.
