Membership is important because it distinguishes those people that have professed faith in Jesus Christ, that have followed the Lord in obedience of baptism, and that have a desire to live out the “one anothers” of the New Testament. It is the outward way we say that we are committed to one another as we walk with the Lord together in this local body. Membership allows us to express our desire to be part of the “household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10)

We understand the Bible to describe and prescribe members of the body of Christ as being engaged members contributing to the life and health of the complete body.
