Update from the team last night (8/13/22): “We had a wonderful day! We were able to feed almost 400 people today! The ministry boys and girls did a great job performing. We were able to give out 50-100 t-shirts and hats. We were also able to minister to a dozen older men and women. They have no families, no records, some didn’t even know their names. A lot of them came off of the street. One man told us he had never been touched with kindness, as we shook hands and hugged! We sang with them, gave them candy, t-shirts, hats and other gifts. Stan shared his testimony and we all prayed together! It was such a blessing.
Tomorrow morning we will go to church. This is a wonderful body of believers that we have worshipped with many times. It will be bitter sweet this time because their pastor, Pastor Radolpho, passed away in 2020 from COVID, and this will be our first time at church without him! Since he passed, three men in the church have been filling in for him for the last two years. Tomorrow, they are planning to announce one of these men as the new pastor! This will be a great blessing and everyone is very excited. After church we are taking the Ministry kids to the movies and taking them out for dinner. This provides a great time for us to ride together on the bus, enjoy a movie in Spanish and eat together. These activities open up opportunities for us to build relationships with the kids and to show them the love of Jesus through a smile, a hug or a broken Spanish/English conversation. We are able to pay for all of these activities through the team members and the West Huntsville family!”
