Update from the team last night (8/16/22): “We had another wonderful day! This morning we went to a kindergarten in a village called Las Flores. The teacher has been keeping up with Stan’s posts on social media, so she sent Stan a message and requested that we come and visit her class. It was a joy spending time with the kids. We shared the Gospel and sang silly songs. We had some left over sun glasses from 35805 Kids Kamp that we gave to all the kids in the class. They were all so excited and thankful! Then we made our way to the city. On the way, we stopped to visit the Cruz family. There are as many as 18 people living in this tiny house just off the main road. FCM actually built the house for this family years ago. We enjoyed sharing with them and encouraging them. We were able to leave a good amount of food with them as they are struggling to survive. We stopped for lunch and Stan met with a girl that had recently left FCM. She has been in the ministry since she was 6, now she is 19. She is a beautiful and extremely intelligent young lady. She had a full scholarship to the university to become an architect. Unfortunately she got into some trouble and lost her scholarship. Stan is trying to restore the relationship and help her get back into school. Next we went to see Cristo de El Picacho. This is a huge statue of Jesus on top of one of the mountains. We had a nice time relaxing and enjoying beautiful views of the city. We ended the day with the Ministry boys and girls displaying beautiful pieces of art they have been working on in art class. Their teacher is Josue, the new pastor of the church. Their pieces of art are amazing and we were able to purchase the pieces to help pay for more supplies!”
Today the team plans to do door to door food ministry. The ladies will be doing a Bible study, called Fervent, with the Honduran ladies. WHBC was able to purchase enough enough Spanish copies for all of the Honduran ladies on staff. Kevin and Michael will be doing a Bible study with the Ministry boys. They will end the day with a big game of bingo with the boys and girls. The team took lots of prizes! Thank you for your continued prayers as the trip draws to a close!
