Updates:

  • Jared Nelson’s mother-in-law, Daphney, had neurosurgery on Thursday to remove a brain tumor. “… she did great and they removed most of the tumor. There was some close to speech areas that they left but they will do an MRI [Friday] morning to confirm everything. [The doctor] said she’s still having some trouble communicating, but they think it should improve based on what they saw. He told them … after the surgery he would think through the treatment plan and maybe a trial.” Update on Friday: “the MRI looks good and [the doctor] will do another one in a couple of weeks. He will be able to tell more then what was tumor and what was tissue. She will have to do speech therapy when she comes home. She literally can’t communicate at all. They said she will have to re-learn how to speak, but that it should all come back.”  [via Sharon Nelson]    (Aug 18)
  • Scott Vaughn’s father, Bill Vaughn (Arizona), fell and broke his left hip. The surgery went well and he went to rehab. “He has a blood clot in he left lung, giving him blood thinners. He’s doing alright but still has quite a bit of pain.”  (Aug 9)
  • Felicia Atnip’s niece and husband, Laura and Brad, had twins. Both weighed over six pounds and went home. The twins went back to the hospital with low oxygen levels and Zoe was having seizures.  Update: Carter is off oxygen. Zoe is taking half of her feedings by bottle, the rest by feeding tube and Carter is taking all of his feedings by bottle.” Zoe no longer has  “obvious seizure activity.” She was scheduled yesterday for an EEG and MRI on her brain [Thursday].  (Aug 12)
