My sister and I were discussing trust today. Her oldest son is new to the Christian faith after decades of addictions and destructive behaviors. He is so very hungry for the word, to learn and grow in the Lord, and they were discussing trust as a believer so he asked her to define trust. My sister says that she trusts the Lord, but other people? Not so much!

We know that without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), so how does walking by faith show up in practical, everyday circumstances? We’ve all had those situations where we could be angry/upset/afraid/name an emotion, but the Lord reminds us of His power and capability to hold all of our details, all of MY details. So my correct response is to listen to the Lord and let my confidence in HIM cause me to have an outward change in MY behavior. It is a choice. Today’s act of faith becomes a building stone for tomorrow’s act of faith, because every day has its own anxieties (Matthew 6:34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”). A life of trust… how do my choices please the Lord?
